What’s the Point of Forum Marketing?

Good Afternoon!
Today I would like to talk with you a little about Forum Marketing. Forum Marketing has so many benefits, but for one reason or another, so many marketers tend to leave this huge step out of their marketing efforts. I have to admit, I too have been too lazy to take advantage of the many benefits of forum marketing in the past.
Forum Marketing is so easy that if you do not enjoy what you are promoting, it can be boring. It can be a beating! But, if you can take the time, or spend the money to outsource, this can be an amazing benefit to whatever site you are wanting to promote.
There are hundreds to thousands of forums for just about anything that you can think about. No matter what niche you are in, you can find forums to take part in. I suggest going to Google and typing in whatever your niche is along with the word forum. From here, you need to join a few, get set up, and start making a name for yourself.
You want to make sure that you are using proper forum etiquette. Do not just go in there and start throwing up links and promotions. If you do not get kicked out or banned, you will most likely be ignored.
I suggest that you go in, make some friends, give some advice, participate in debates, and give all that you can give. Once people see that you are a regular guy or girl, they are going to be more willing to see what you are all about. If people are interested in your knowledge and input, they are much more willing to check out the information that you have available in your signature.
Not only can you start getting some pretty decent traffic to your site, but every time that you post, you will be adding more back links to your site.
So, you get traffic, you build relationships that can be very beneficial down the road, an finally, your site will be gaining authority with the search engines for your niche! To me, there is no reason to leave this crucial step out of ANY campaign that you ever build.
Please know that this is just my opinion. I have been doing this for a while now, and like I said, I have left this step out of a few of my campaigns. It makes such a huge difference that it has become a part of my daily routine for each of my niches.

Joining forums and contributing to discussion is a great way to create backlinks. I understand some forums got “no-follow” rule which will not give any backlinks to us. That shouldn’t be any problem at all. My perception is the more you post and contribute the more people will be interested in you and henceforth more likely will check out on your links eventually. This method is most tedious and time consuming but well worth spending the time with.
From what I understand, Google is the only search engine that ignores no-follow links. All other search engines will give credit for them. So it is still worth it to try and get activity from Yahoo and MSN. While Google is the biggest authority, millions of people still use Yahoo and MSN. Take advantage of them as well!
I’ve been using forums for a while and, while I find most have nofollow links, you can pull some decent traffic, especially if you are a regular contributor.
That is definitely what it is all about~
Make contributions, make friends, build relationships, and eventually you will make some money!

Forum Marketing is not meant to be a quick fix to getting traffic to your site. It will take time, but will also last forever. I tend to teach things that are going to be long term.

Forum marketing can be effective way to
promote your site or product, but still this is slow and laborious form of online marketing.
Yes, it is very laborious, but if done correctly, it works very well (over time).
Also, if you do not feel like doing it yourself, you can always outsource!

I post on various forums and I find it brings in a lot of traffic, however it should be something that you enjoy doing or it will become painful.
Most forums these days are no-follow, therefore I don’t see a lot of value in backlinks, but any exposure is good exposure.

Ok, online business is so huge right now, and that’s what you guys do…most of your threads cater right into the waiting hands of all those people interested in starting websites and making money online. That’s your angle, thats what you have to develop your marketing mix around.
I would advise you to do these two things to help fatten your revenues from the site.
First, I suggest you create a newsletter, a kind of best of cosmos email that you send out weekly to keep members abreast on the newest happening in online revenue generation. You can even sell ad space in this once your readership gets big enough.
Second, i would advise teaming up with the nuts and bolts sites that sell domain names and such. In this way you can advertise on their sites and their users will see your business and then go to it whenever they have a question regarding online business.
Do these two and you should be able to brand you self as one of the premier go to sites for all things online business.
