Today I have decided to put together a little search engine optimization tutorial for you. Please keep in mind that there are well over 200 SEO factors that Google uses to rank pages in the Google search results. So, now you ask, what are the search engine optimization rules? I believe that there are many educated guesses by SEO webmasters on many of the top forums. If you would like to achieve a high ranking, I have taken the top 5 positive and negative confirmed Google Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Rules.
Top 5 Positive Rules (things to do)
1. Have your main target keyword in the URL
2. Have your main target keyword in your domain name
3. Have your main target keyword in your title tag
4. Have your main target keyword in H1, H2, and H3
5. Freshness of content, freshness of pages, amount of content change, and freshness of links to high-trust sites
Top 5 Negative Rules (things to avoid)
1. Do not have text presented in graphics form only with no actual body text on the page.
2. Avoid building a cookie cutter affiliate site with massive inter-linking ad little actual on page content.
3. Avoid keyword stuffing and meta-tag stuffing.
4. Do not link to bad neighborhoods (Google hates link farms and Free For All’s)
5. Don’t immediately send your visitor to another page other than the one he/ she clicked on, using meta refresh.
Whether you like it or not, Google has a lot to do with what happens to the websites that you spend so much time on. There are things that they love, and there are things that will force them to rest in the big old online graveyard. Try to incorporate these ideas into your next project, and you will be on your way to making it into the good graces of Google!
If you have any questions or comments about this search engine optimization tutorial, please let me know! I look forward to hearing from you!

Great beginners guide.
I wished someone had taught me this when I started out, rather than wasting money on PPC with no idea.

Thanks Alf!
I think that so much information is available when starting out, the problem is that no one really knows how to search for it when they are just getting started.
Dude, Awesome content great readability… You are gonna be a rocket at this, if you are not already! Good Job!

I really do enjoy learning and teaching Internet Marketing. There are so many different avenues to take, and I enjoy finding them. Plus, once you teach something, then you know it that much better. I would like to be an expert at anything that I do!
I agree with you that SEO is very important to website building.
I would appreciate if you could provide more info concerning :-
i)cookie cutter affiliate site
ii)link farms (bad neighbourhood)
Thanks.
Thank you very much for your comment Anti-Aging!
i) A Cookie-Cutter affiliate site are sites that are created with the same template, using nearly the same copy. People were pumping them out by the hundreds in an attempt to garner all the top spots in the SERPS (Search Engine Results Page). This has since been recognized and like I said, Google does not like them at all!
ii) a link farm is defined as a group of separate, highly interlinked websites for the purposes of inflating link popularity (or PR). Engaging in a link farm is a violation of the Terms Of Service of most search engines and could be grounds for banning.
I hope that this helps!

Thanks a lot for your comment!
I am glad that you found this post useful!
Is it okay if say my website shares links with any websites that wish to link up with me regardless of their niche? Were this be considered as link farming?
Also, what about buying back links from interested seller. Do you think it’s okay to buy these links?
Thanks.
Good Afternoon,
If you are sharing links with other websites that are in a different niche it is okay. You will be building more solid links by linking to sites that are in the same nich or sub-niche that you are in, but doing what you are saying is not going to hurt the reputation of your site. This is not going to be considered link farming.
Buying back links is not not an issue either, but I personally do back linking myself. You definitely need to check the page rank of the site that you would be buying links from. You do not want to buy back links from sites with little or no page rank (this will not do anything for your site).
I would suggest that you go out and start posting in blogs (like you are doing here), find forums that are specific to your niche and make yourself known in these forums. Most of them allows signatures where you can put a link to your site. The more you post, the more natural back links you will be building (free!!!). Make sure that you are not there to promote yourself. You need to make sure that you are actively participating in discussions and answering questions to help. Not only is this going to get you back links, but it will also help your reputation in your niche. If people see that you are willing to help and that you are giving good advise, they will be more likely to click on your signature links and see what you have going on.
I hope that this helps!
Thanks!
Chris, thank you so much for taking the time to answer. It’s really refreshing. One thing most interesting in the internet nowadays is there’re some many places you can find interesting ideas, informations and solutions to your problem.
I will do my best to make sure that I consistently provide honest feedback to help you succeed!
Best of luck to you!
You have some great info here. I like it that you make note of the all to common affiliate sites with little to no real content.
I have noticed an explosuion of what are known as conduit sites. Basically sites with auto generated Amazon ads. These drive me nuts. There is a little more to SEO and good marketing than automated content.
Just my 2 cents.
Thanks Ken!
I agree 100%! It is frustrating seeing sites like that.
Thank you for stopping by!
