Follow Me!

How are you doing? What are you doing right now? Please limit your response to 140 characters or less!

Is it just me or is Twitter just crazy? The daily growth is phenomenal. Some marketers would tell you that you can make millions by utilizing Twitter. I am still up in the air. I do see a little traffic trickle in every time I post something about my site, but I am not going to tell you that I am making millions because of it. I will admit, I just started using Twitter last month, and at the time of this post, I only have about 800 followers. I am seeing a nice return (there is no cost involved in getting traffic from Twitter, so any money made is going to be considered pure profit!)

So, the more that I tweet, and the more people that I follow, and the more followers that I get, I am getting more and more excited about Twitter everyday! I have recently become obsessed with finding applications to make Twitter easier, build more followers, and eventually get more traffic to my site. Over the last few days, I have put together a list of applications that I really like. Without further a due, here are my favorites (in no particular order).

1. TweetDeck – TweetDeck can help you organize all of your followers into different groups so that you can deal with all of the tweets that come in.

2. TweetLater – TweetLater allows you to write and program your Tweets to go out at a later date. You can also set up keywords with TweetLater.

3. SocialToo – SocialTooservice tells you who has recently started following you and who is no longer following you. You can pre-write an automatic welcome message for your new followers.

4. TwitterCounter – Check the number of people that are following you, or anybody else. You can plug in two different Twitter users and compare their stats. TwitterCounter also predicts how many followers you will have in the future. You can then post the result in a widget on your blog.

5. FriendorFollow – FriendorFollow will tell you which people you are following that are not following you back.

6. Twollow – Twollow lets you set keywords and this neat little tool will seek out people who posted the same keywords so that you can follow people with similar interests to yourself.

7. TweetStats – TweetStats figures out when you use Twitter the most. If you wish, you can share it with everybody else by tweeting about it!

8. TwiveAway – TwiveAway will help you quadruple your Twitter follower count, and build a loyal following by running your very own Twitter giveaway contest, all on complete auto-pilot!

9. Is.gd – This service will shorten any URL and so free up some characters for your main message if you wish to link out to a website or blog post.

10. TweetThis – This is a great way to tweet about links to anything that takes your fancy on the net. Post a button to your website to encourage people to tweet your articles.

Are you on Twitter? Do you use any of these Twitter Apps? Let me know what you think! I hope that these apps are useful to you. Tweet you later!

If you have any questions, please let me know! I look forward to hearing from you!

Namecheap.com Twitter Travel Contest

I know that I am a few days late putting this information out, but I wanted to make sure that you are aware of this.  If you are into Internet Marketing, there is a good chance that you have purchased a domain.  Yes, I know that domains are really not that expensive, but if you can get them for free, why not take advantage of it?

Starting on June 3rd and going until June 18th, NameCheap.com is running a Twitter Travel contest where they will be giving away prizes every hour.  They will be giving away three domain names every hour on the hour for two weeks. The top two players and one person at random will win $1000 each towards the vacation of their choice. Three players will win Canon PowerShot D10s.

So now you ask. . . How do I win?

You will need to sign-up for a free Twitter account and follow Namecheap by clicking here. NameCheap will be posting a trivia question every hour on the hour starting from June 3rd 11 am EST – June 18th 10 am EST. Three people who reply to the tweet with the correct answer will get a $9.69 credit to their NameCheap account.  If you have been holding out on purchasing a new domain, here is your chance!

The first person to reply to the tweet with the correct answer will receive a $9.69 credit to their NameCheap account. Two other domain winners will be picked at random, so don’t give up if you aren’t the first.  NameCheap will announce the winners and answers on Twitter. To claim the credit, you should link your NameCheap account to your twitter account (click here to find out how to do this).

I hope that this has been helpful for you!  The competition for this is pretty heavy, but just answer and even if you are not the first to answer, because of the random drawings, you still have a chance!  I look forward to your questions and comments below!

Search Engine Optimization Tutorial

Today I have decided to put together a little search engine optimization tutorial for you. Please keep in mind that there are well over 200 SEO factors that Google uses to rank pages in the Google search results. So, now you ask, what are the search engine optimization rules? I believe that there are many educated guesses by SEO webmasters on many of the top forums. If you would like to achieve a high ranking, I have taken the top 5 positive and negative confirmed Google Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Rules.

Top 5 Positive Rules (things to do)

1. Have your main target keyword in the URL

2. Have your main target keyword in your domain name

3. Have your main target keyword in your title tag

4. Have your main target keyword in H1, H2, and H3

5. Freshness of content, freshness of pages, amount of content change, and freshness of links to high-trust sites

Top 5 Negative Rules (things to avoid)

1. Do not have text presented in graphics form only with no actual body text on the page.

2. Avoid building a cookie cutter affiliate site with massive inter-linking ad little actual on page content.

3. Avoid keyword stuffing and meta-tag stuffing.

4. Do not link to bad neighborhoods (Google hates link farms and Free For All’s)

5. Don’t immediately send your visitor to another page other than the one he/ she clicked on, using meta refresh.

Whether you like it or not, Google has a lot to do with what happens to the websites that you spend so much time on. There are things that they love, and there are things that will force them to rest in the big old online graveyard. Try to incorporate these ideas into your next project, and you will be on your way to making it into the good graces of Google!

If you have any questions or comments about this search engine optimization tutorial, please let me know! I look forward to hearing from you!
