Search Engine Optimization Tutorial

Posted on : 03-06-2009 | By : Chris | In : Search Engine Optimization

Today I have decided to put together a little search engine optimization tutorial for you. Please keep in mind that there are well over 200 SEO factors that Google uses to rank pages in the Google search results. So, now you ask, what are the search engine optimization rules? I believe that there are many educated guesses by SEO webmasters on many of the top forums. If you would like to achieve a high ranking, I have taken the top 5 positive and negative confirmed Google Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Rules.

Top 5 Positive Rules (things to do)

1. Have your main target keyword in the URL

2. Have your main target keyword in your domain name

3. Have your main target keyword in your title tag

4. Have your main target keyword in H1, H2, and H3

5. Freshness of content, freshness of pages, amount of content change, and freshness of links to high-trust sites

Top 5 Negative Rules (things to avoid)

1. Do not have text presented in graphics form only with no actual body text on the page.

2. Avoid building a cookie cutter affiliate site with massive inter-linking ad little actual on page content.

3. Avoid keyword stuffing and meta-tag stuffing.

4. Do not link to bad neighborhoods (Google hates link farms and Free For All’s)

5. Don’t immediately send your visitor to another page other than the one he/ she clicked on, using meta refresh.

Whether you like it or not, Google has a lot to do with what happens to the websites that you spend so much time on. There are things that they love, and there are things that will force them to rest in the big old online graveyard. Try to incorporate these ideas into your next project, and you will be on your way to making it into the good graces of Google!

What is Google Wave?

Posted on : 01-06-2009 | By : Chris | In : Internet Marketing

Last week, Google announced that later this year they will be launching a new real-time communication platform called Google Wave (see image below). After researching all day, I am going to attempt to answer the question that people all around the world are wondering, “What is Google Wave?

According to Google:

A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.

A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.

To sum this up, Google Wave is going to be a communication platform that will combine many of the attributes of email, social networking, instant messaging, and web chat all in one.

According to Mashable.com, Google Wave has a lot of innovative features, but here are just a few:

- Real-time: In most instances, you can see what someone else is typing, character-by-character.

- Embeddability: Waves can be embedded on any blog or website.

- Applications and Extensions: Just like a Facebook application or an iGoogle gadget, developers can build their own apps within waves. They can be anything from bots to complex real-time games.

- Wiki functionality: Anything written within a Google Wave can be edited by anyone else, because all conversations within the platform are shared. Thus, you can correct information, append information, or add your own commentary within a developing conversation.

- Open source: The Google Wave code will be open source, to foster innovation and adoption amongst developers.

- Playback: You can playback any part of the wave to see what was said.

- Natural language: Google Wave can autocorrect your spelling, even going as far as knowing the difference between similar words, like “been” and “bean.” It can also auto-translate on-the-fly.

- Drag-and-drop file sharing: No attachments; just drag your file and drop it inside Google Wave and everyone will have access.

As you can see, what Google is cooking up here is going to cause a wave of traffic blowing down its doors once this Google Wave goes live.  It is being analyzed, picked apart, and criticized by all of the biggest names on the world wide web, and we all know that we cannot wai to get our grubby little fingers on it.  Of course we will never know until it happens, but some experts are saying that Google Wave is going to put a hurt on Twitter.  I really doubt that Twitter is going to be knocked out, but it might be nice to see all of the spammers and affiliate links slowly start fading from Twitter.  Who knows, this might even help Twitter.

Well, I hope that you find this information useful.  I have a lot of ideas running through my head right now, so if you have any questions about anything to do with Google Wave, feel free to leave me a message.  If you have any more info about Google Wave, please share with us.  This might lead to a great opportunity for Internet Marketers.

Why Do So Many Internet Marketers Fail?

Where do I start?

I asked myself this question today and I thought that I had a great response. Then as I stared at the computer, I really started analyzing this question. “Why do so many Internet Marketers fail?” Do they fail because they are doing it on their own and feel like they have no support? Do they fail because they do not see million of dollars rolling in after the first week? Do they fail because they do not have a boss breathing down their back forcing them to produce? My opinion is none of the above. I think that the number 1 reason for why so many fail at Internet Marketing is simply because they give up.

If you ask any successful Internet Marketer in the world, they will tell you that they went through so much adversity to make it where they are today. So many people turn to the internet when they need money. Most of these people work full-time jobs, they have families, and most importantly, the have a limit to the time that they can spend on their new online business. Each one of these factors will lead you to just throw your hands up and quit. Quitting is so easy. It is so easy to make excuses to make yourself feel batter about quitting.

If you truly want to be successful in Internet Marketing, you must do what a successful marketer would do. You have to say “I will not let anything stand in my way of becoming a successful Internet Marketer!” There will be adversity. There will be times when you feel overwhelmed with life. There will a day where you doubt that what you are doing is making a difference. Make a promise to yourself that you will not give up. Keep on keeping on. If one thing is not working for you, try something else. Truth be told, anyone can be successful online, but it is not for everyone. You have to want it. You have to give it everything you have got. Remind yourself why you are doing it. Write own your goals and post them where they are always in your face.

“Just Do It”

Posted on : 29-05-2009 | By : Chris | In : Article Marketing, Internet Marketing

23

Ever since I started with Internet Marketing just over a year ago, I have used article marketing. Article Marketing can be useful in a couple of ways. I personally have two major uses for Article Marketing. I use Article Marketing to test out affiliate products, and then I use articles to build traffic and back links to sites that I have built. No matter what the reason is for you using Article Marketing, there are a lot of places to go to get your articles online. I have put together my top ten list of sites to submit articles. I have my reason for believing that these are the best. I look for page rank, popularity, and ease of use.

Here we go!

#1 – isnare.com – page rank 6

#2 – ezinearticles.com – page rank 6

#3 – articlesfactory.com – page rank 4

#4 – articledashboard.com – page rank 5

#5 – articlecity.com – page rank 5

#6 – articlealley.com – page rank 5

#7 – amazines.com – page rank 4

#8 – businessknowhow.com – page rank 4

#9 – promotionworld.com – page rank 4

#10 – goarticles.com – page rank 6

What do you think of my top ten list of sites to submit articles to? Are you using any of these sites? Do you have any that you think should replace something on this list? Like I said, these are the sites that I like for my own reasons. Article Marketing can be one of the most important parts of your marketing campaign if you use it correctly.

If you have any questions, please let me know! I look forward to hearing from you!
