Using One-Way Anchor Text Backlinks

One thing that many internet marketers (or any business that goes online to build business) tend to forget in their campaigns is Anchor Text backlinks. First of all, building backlinks to your website is extremely important, but if you are not doing it correctly, you can really hurt yourself in the long run. Second, when you are building backlinks, you need to make sure that you are using anchor text (text that is relevant to the content on your site). Doing this correctly will not only show the top search engines that your site is important, but it will also show them just what your site is all about and what keywords they should rank your site for (does that make sense???).

So many people will write amazing content to submit to all of the article directories and web 2.0 sites. They will do their keyword research. They will have the proper keyword density in their content. They will write relevant articles that will make people really want to go to their site to continue reading. Bad news is that 75% of these people will then put something in their author bio like this:

“For More Information on how to correctly choose the best wedding planner for your upcoming wedding, click here!

WRONG! Now, when Google is out crawling all of these article directories, it will see the words “click here” and think that that word or phrase is relevant to your website! Really, what the hell does “click here” have to do with your website? Absolutely NOTHING! You are hurting yourself. If someone goes into google to look for a wedding planner, do you really think they are going to type “click here” and hope to find the best wedding planner? What the most common bride to be is going to type into google is: best wedding planner in Dallas, or cheapest wedding planners in the Dallas area or something like that. How about you create a bio box like this:

Not only does this sound more appealing, but the more articles that you have out there with this type of anchor text, the higher google will rank you for this keyword or phrase. This is how you are going to start building business!

Man it sure has been a long time since I have been able to make a post!

I have been so busy with everything! Life is an amazing thing. You only get to go through it once, and you sure as hell better do everything that you can to make it enjoyable. That is what I have been trying to do.

In addition to having a beautiful baby girl (Chloe Nicole Jensen), my wife and I have been working on a few other things. Being that my wife is on maternity leave right now, she has taken the role of wedding coordinator for her sisters upcoming wedding. I have never seen her as happy as she is while doing all of this work for the upcoming wedding. We have taken this passion and we are creating a new business for her. In addition to this, I have been working with a god friend of mine on a website that is more for fun (Bash Your Co-Worker). As you can see, with this site, I am actually taking a step away from in your face internet marketing, and taking what I have learned to do what I enjoy (build, maintain, and market websites). The good news is that once this site is getting a certain amount of daily traffic, I can start selling ad space on this site. Talk about easy money! People will pay you on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis to place their ads on your busy site!

Anyway, I have decided to start focusing more time back to this blog since I have finally got these other sites up and running, and now I just have to maintain!

Do what you love! Talk about what you are passionate about! It pisses me off when people say that they can not pick a niche to try to make money. You can make money in ANY market you can think of. If you enjoy something, start writing about it. Talk about it, make videos about it, write articles about it. If you enjoy something, chances are you will have a lot of other people online that are interested in what you have to say. Get readers, get followers, get daily traffic, and sell ad space! It is really pretty easy.

It is going to take time to get a following and get that daily traffic, but if you are writing or blogging about something that you are passionate about, it should be pretty easy to keep it up.

Anyone see that movie Julie and Julia? Stories like that happen every day. Yeah, it was not easy for he at first, but she ended up doing so well that they made a movie about her (think that gig paid very well???).

Good Evening Everyone!

I know that it has been a while, but I have been so busy!

My wife is just over a month away from giving birth to our first baby! I was recently promoted, so I am working a little bit more in my real job. I have been building, developing, and marketing about 15 affiliate websites (which brings me to the reason of this post).

I have decided to focus all of my efforts on about 5 sites that I have a lot of interest in, and I have decided to put the rest of them (good, but no interest) up for sale. I thought about using flippa.com, but I thought that I would start here. I will be taking bids through responses. All of the sites have a starting bid of $50, and I have a reserve that I will not go below. I have so many people that are here on a daily basis that I would like to offer these sites to before I try to sell them on Flippa. Some of them have opt ins with follow up messages. Some of them are getting traffic (even though I have not done anything except basic SEO and some social bookmarking).

Using Time Management To Attack And Destroy Stress

Your career is suffering from not using time management aggressively to manage stress. You are missing promotions and raises, because you are spending your time defending against stress instead of attacking it. This pain is caused by using time management basically the wrong way. Too many time management in the workplace seminars teach you to just make To Do lists and then prioritize them. A proper time management system will not only prioritize your tasks, but allow you to defend your To Do list against interruptions and crises, since those are a huge source of stress. Nothing you have been doing can alleviate this pain. This is why you have been passed over for promotions and raises.

Using time management within a complete stress management system can really make you stand out at work. The type of leadership that is being looked for today is the type of leadership that prevents problems. Using time management to prevent workplace anxiety instead of just reacting to it keeps the workplace running smoothly. You can learn a new way to manage your time and your tasks, to prevent stress. And when you prevent stress, you are spending more time finding the opportunities in stressful situations.

Here are 5 ways to use time management to turn stress into opportunities.

Recognize that time management is really self-discipline. Time flows forward, no matter what you do. Time management is really disciplining yourself to stay on task and to be able to resist interruptions and temptations. Embrace the Pareto Principle. This principle says that 80% of your results will come from 20% of your efforts (or time or customers or any number of variations). So constantly review your work, to focus on the 20% that gives you the 80%. Use the SMART method of goal setting: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Tangible. This keeps your efforts focused. Use the TF30 method to prioritize your schedule. Tasks that must be done Today, tasks that must be done by Friday, and tasks that must be done within the next 30 days. This method will easily allow you to reject distractions that are less important than whatever you are working on. Delegate properly. Pick the proper person, and explain clearly what is to be done. Set a date certain to be completed, and set periodic review dates to monitor the progress.

If you don’t use aggressive time management, your being passed over for promotions and raises will get worse. Without a time management system that removes stress, your time will continue to be chewed up by fighting stress. This means that the bad health effects of stress will be magnified by the bad emotional effects of stress. You think it will be painful to change your time management system. It will be much more painful not to.

You have seen how time management is an integral part of a comprehensive stress management system. But many times, your time management system becomes a source of stress instead of part of what to do to relieve stress. This is because most time management systems do not allow you enough time to handle your tasks and any interruptions. That’s like planning to travel by plane in winter, but not considering that flights might be delayed from snow or ice. Using a comprehensive stress management system which includes time management throughout will eliminate missing promotions and give you more recognition at work.

Having a list building technique is synonymous with success for any website or internet based business. List building is used to collect information from visitors so that future contact can be made. List building is crucial, but it is also important that you stay in touch with your list in order to build a responsive list of buyers. If you are building but not providing value to your list of customers then you need to start trying to build better relationships with your list.

Choosing a Domain Name

Okay…

If you do any internet marketing at all, there is a good chance that you have had to build a website. When you decide to build a website, there are a lot of things that you will have to research and consider before you even get started.

You have to decide what your site is going to be about. You will have to decided where you will host your site. You will have to decide whether you are going to build a blog or if you are going to go for a more traditional style website. And most importantly, you will have to choose a domain name.

There are some things that you should try to accomplish with your domain name, but there are also some things that you should try to avoid when creating said domain.

I usually start with a little keyword research. I try to find keywords that are getting searched a lot that do not have millions of competitors. I usually like to start out with about ten strong keywords. From here, I usually go to namecheap.com to see if any of these keywords are available with a dot com. Most of the time, you will have to get a little creative, but this is usually pretty fun for me!

Here are some things that I like to try to accomplish:
1. My domain had to do with what the site is about.
2. I try to make it as short as possible while still making sense.
3. I want the domain name to be easy to remember.
4. If a dot com is not available, I move on.

Here are some things that I try to avoid:
1. I avoid hyphens and numbers. If I tell someone my website and then I have to explain that there are hyphens or that it is the word two and not the number two then I will avoid it!
2. I avoid using hard to spell words.
3. Make sure to avoid copyright infringement.

I know that there is a lot more to look for and to avoid. This is just a quick listing to get you started on the right track.

What’s the Point of Forum Marketing?

Good Afternoon!

Today I would like to talk with you a little about Forum Marketing. Forum Marketing has so many benefits, but for one reason or another, so many marketers tend to leave this huge step out of their marketing efforts. I have to admit, I too have been too lazy to take advantage of the many benefits of forum marketing in the past.

Forum Marketing is so easy that if you do not enjoy what you are promoting, it can be boring. It can be a beating! But, if you can take the time, or spend the money to outsource, this can be an amazing benefit to whatever site you are wanting to promote.

There are hundreds to thousands of forums for just about anything that you can think about. No matter what niche you are in, you can find forums to take part in. I suggest going to Google and typing in whatever your niche is along with the word forum. From here, you need to join a few, get set up, and start making a name for yourself.

You want to make sure that you are using proper forum etiquette. Do not just go in there and start throwing up links and promotions. If you do not get kicked out or banned, you will most likely be ignored.

I suggest that you go in, make some friends, give some advice, participate in debates, and give all that you can give. Once people see that you are a regular guy or girl, they are going to be more willing to see what you are all about. If people are interested in your knowledge and input, they are much more willing to check out the information that you have available in your signature.

Not only can you start getting some pretty decent traffic to your site, but every time that you post, you will be adding more back links to your site.

So, you get traffic, you build relationships that can be very beneficial down the road, an finally, your site will be gaining authority with the search engines for your niche! To me, there is no reason to leave this crucial step out of ANY campaign that you ever build.

Please know that this is just my opinion. I have been doing this for a while now, and like I said, I have left this step out of a few of my campaigns. It makes such a huge difference that it has become a part of my daily routine for each of my niches.

What’s the Point of Forum Marketing?

Niche Marketing | Finding a New Niche

Hello Everyone!

I tend to roam through forums throughout the day on a daily basis, and I have noticed that newbies are always saying that they are having trouble coming up with a new niche to market. I must admit, when I first started out, I was looking for high paying affiliate products. I would find products, and then from there, I would try to build niche sites to sell these products. In my opinion, with all that I have learned, this is definitely the wrong way to approach niche marketing.

If you are just starting out and you are interested in niche marketing, I would definitely try to find a niche that you are interested in first. Internet Marketing is painful enough. Do not make it harder on yourself by going into a niche that you know absolutely nothing about. I recommend that you start out in a niche that you are familiar with, or if possible, look into your hobbies. You will be doing a lot of writing, and it is a hell of a lot easier to write about something that you are familiar with.

I recently came across this great report that has a few hundred niches that many people do not ever think about looking into. Take a look at this list and let me know what you think. Just about every niche in this list has some sort of product that you can market. If you cannot find a product, create your own! I will get into this a little more at a later date.
